Inspired by Manak Community Health Organization's mission and the work of Kadija Conteh-Barrat, in 2022 as a 5th grader, Ren (far right) and her friends held the first MaCHO Book and Art Supply Drive! The donated books helped supply Manak Community Health Organization's first of its kind library in honor of Steven Klass, which opened in 2024 with your support. "We all love to read and think that all kids should have books. That is why we are proud to play a part in this," says Ren.
Ren's school and neighborhood communities donated over 2,000 books and several boxes of school and art supplies! Her grandfather, Steven Klass, for whom the library is named, has also received thousands of books and workbooks from his former teaching colleagues!
Ren, and the whole MaCHO team, believe that literacy is central to achieving the health outcomes and quality of life that the people of Sierra Leone deserve.
To date, nearly 1,500 books and 4 boxes of art supplies have been donated during Ren's first book drive!

Your support and contributions will improve conditions for children and families in Sierra Leone.
Your generous donation will change lives!
